Georgia Voter Records: Open and Closed
Georgia law separates elector data from the original registration application. Under O.C.G.A. § 21-2-225, the application and its copies are not open without a court order. Listed-elector data is public with defined exceptions. Confidential by Georgia law. O.C.G.A. § 21-2-225 withholds month and day of birth, Social Security numbers, email addresses, driver-license numbers, the application location, and bank statements used for identification. Qualified protected-voter addresses are also sealed.
Phone numbers and full dates of birth are not among the statewide list columns. Public status does not make the data unrestricted. Georgia prohibits commercial use of supplied elector information, and lawful access never permits stalking, harassment, fraud, or harm.
Georgia Voter Rolls Show Participation
Georgia does not enroll voters by political party. A voter can select a party ballot in a primary-type election without becoming a registered member of that party. That distinction matters when reading “Last Party Voted” in a list file or viewing the Secretary of State's election-data tools.
The participation fields can identify an election date and ballot type. They cannot reveal a choice for a candidate, referendum, or other contest. The Secretary of State's 2026 Election Data Hub update added turnout filters for Republican, Democratic, and nonpartisan ballot participation, but that remains turnout data. It is neither party enrollment nor a record of votes cast.

Why Hinesville Registrations Turn Inactive
Inactive is a list-maintenance status, not an automatic bar to voting. Contact with the election system can help maintain or restore active status. Protected Hinesville Voter Addresses
VoteSafe protects qualifying registered Georgia voters who have certain protective or restraining orders, or who live in a family-violence shelter. An applicant submits the form and supporting affidavit or shelter certification to the county registrar. The residence address and VoteSafe records remain confidential and are used only for registration. Approval lasts four years unless withdrawn or canceled, and a move to another county requires a new application with support.
Safe at Home launched July 1, 2026 under O.C.G.A. § 50-18-150 et seq. It is broader than VoteSafe. Eligible survivors receive a substitute address for most state and local public records, mail forwarding, and protected voter registration while election districts remain based on the actual residence.
These programs explain why an ordinary voter roll may not show the residence address a searcher expects. Never try to defeat a statutory shield or obtain a protected address through another record source.

Verify Related Georgia Records Carefully
Some Georgia Secretary of State systems identify people but serve entirely different records. The Team Georgia directory shown below is a state employee and agency contact source. It does not run a Hinesville voter lookup, establish registration status, or provide access to voter rolls.
